Good Walk Privacy Policy

Good Walk is a habit tracker for walking your dog every day. It is built so that it does not need your data.

Camera

If you add a photo to a walk card, Good Walk opens the camera or your photo library only at that moment. The photo is used to draw the card on your phone and is not saved by the app, not attached to the walk, and never uploaded. It is gone as soon as you close the card, unless you share or save it yourself.

What Good Walk collects

Nothing that identifies you or your dog. Good Walk has no accounts, no sign-in and no server of its own.

What stays on your device

• Your dog's profile: name, size, breed type, age and the daily walk target.
• Your dog's photo, if you add one.
• Each walk you log (date, minutes, distance), and the streaks, totals and milestones worked out from them.
• Your reminder time.

These are stored locally in the app's container (shared only with the app's own Home Screen widget on the same device) and are deleted when you delete the app. Good Walk does not read from or write to Apple Health.

Your dog's photo

You choose the photo with the system photo picker, so Good Walk never has access to the rest of your photo library. The photo is saved on your device and shown in the app, the widget and the share cards. It is not uploaded anywhere. A share card leaves your phone only when you share it yourself.

Motion data and distance

If you allow Motion & Fitness access, Good Walk reads the pedometer in your phone during a walk to measure distance. This happens on your device, only the resulting distance is saved (on your device), and it is never sent anywhere. The permission is optional: without it, distance is estimated from how long you walked.

Location

Good Walk does not request, use or store your location. There is no GPS tracking and no map.

What Good Walk can't see

Good Walk does not know where you walk, who you're with, or anything you don't enter. It does not read messages, contacts, location or your photo library.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment information. Good Walk only receives confirmation that a purchase is active.

Analytics

Good Walk may record anonymous events about how the app itself is used (for example, "onboarding completed" or "walk finished") to improve the product, using PostHog, an analytics service. These events contain no personal information, are not linked to your identity, and never include your dog's name or photo. There are no user profiles and no session recordings. Good Walk does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell data.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Good Walk uses them only for the daily walk reminder you scheduled and, if you chose it, a reminder before a free trial ends. They are scheduled on your device.

Not veterinary advice

Good Walk is not a veterinary service. Walk targets are general guidelines, not veterinary advice. Ask your vet what's right for your dog, especially for puppies, seniors, flat-faced breeds and dogs with health conditions.

Children

Good Walk is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
